Castles and Houses For lovers of historic houses and castles, Herefordshire is heaven. Don’t miss Hellens Manor – the haunted, historic house in Much Marcle and visit Eastnor Castle – just outside Ledbury. Goodrich Castle close to Ross-on-Wye is just a twenty minute drive away.

The National Trust has several properties in Herefordshire, including Croft Castle and Berrington Hall near Leominster, and the exquisitely beautiful Brockhampton Estate near Bromyard.

Gardens Wilton Castle has been beautifully restored and is open on set times during the Spring and Summer

The Royal Horticultural Society holds a Spring and an Autumn show each year at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern. These are very popular.

Stocktonbury Gardens a truly special place. Herefordshire has it’s very own Hampton Court a late medieval castle which is a private home set in beautiful gardens and grounds.

Broadfield Court is not just a garden but also a fine winery and has a tea room serving excellent lunches.

Hergest Croft lovely at all times of the year with a very good tea room and unusual plants for sale.

Theatre Walking distance of The Phoenix Theatre in Ross which shows plays and Flicks in the Stix. We are within easy driving distance of a number of theatres.

Malvern Theatre in the centre of Great Malvern. The Courtyard in Hereford which has easy parking and a great cafe.

The Blake Theatre Monmouth. The Everyman and The Playhouse in Cheltenham. The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury.

General Owl Centre and Small Breeds Farm Park beautiful displays of one of the most extensive owl collections in Europe. Open 365 days of the year. Situated in Kington.

Morgan Car Factory Tour The Morgan Motor Company have been making sports cars for over 100 years. Tours are available Monday – Thursday (last tour 3pm) and Friday mornings.



Our home is a beautiful grade 2 listed property with lovely original features like pine shutters and doors and large Georgian sash windows.

Our guests come to enjoy the beautiful county of Herefordshire. Ross-on-Wye is the only town in England in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a short walk from the River Wye and the Forest where there is something for everybody whether you like to walk, cycle, visit the many interesting historic sites or just relax in this beautiful county.

All the bedrooms are decorated to a high standard, extremely spacious and comfortable with King size beds and en suite facilities. Breakfast is served in our bright and airy dining room where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast which includes a home made fresh fruit salad and locally sourced produce (when available) to prepare our hearty full English breakfast.

We have a large, comfortable guest lounge where visitors can relax during their stay. There is a selection of books and games for your enjoyment.

There is ample parking for all our guests and we are only a short walk away from the town centre of Ross-on-Wye where there are a variety of interesting independent shops and cafes.

Brookfield House is well positioned for trips up and down the wonderful Wye valley from Tintern Abbey to Hay-on-Wye.

On our doorstep are the Royal Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat. There are also many other local attractions and activities, a selection of which can be found on the tab above marked Local Area
