A unique single storey cottage converted from an old round house in which the corn was ground with a donkey driving a central mill stone.
This was a common feature on many old Cornish farms, and the remaining big wooden beams give the cottage great charm.
The cottage has a stable door leading into a separate kitchen area, which is fitted in white country-style units with solid wooden work surfaces and attractive pale blue and lime splash back tiling. The kitchen is well equipped with a fan-assisted ceramic hob cooker with separate grill, microwave and fridge/freezer, and all the things you may need down to items such as a cafetiere and garlic press. Feature lighting is provided by an overhead halogen 4 spot bar and under cupboard lighting over the worktops. Crockery is is a timeless Poole pottery design.
Leading from the kitchen, the attractive semi-circular living room has an impressive vaulted ceiling with some original exposed beams and a Cornish slate wood burning open fireplace. There is also a removable living flame electric fire for convenience. For dining there is a delightful iron framed, wood topped table with 4 matching chairs, and a matching dresser.
The cottage has two 'top of the range' Ekornes Stressless 2 seater sofas, arranged around the fireplace and television with both VHS video recorder and DVD player, and there is also a CD music centre. Lighting is by two dimmable spots, obscured down lighting or table lights, as the mood dictates.
