The Avalon is an exceptionally friendly and informal, family run property offering 5 Star, Gold Award bed and breakfast accommodation in a perfect location within the enchanting Village of Tintagel.Originally built in Victorian times, The Avalon was totally transformed in 2006 via a complete renovation and refurbishment and was finally redesigned using an eclectic mix of the traditional Victorian features with contemporary comforts and finished with a Gothic twist.
The Avalon B&B enjoys private car parking and lovely, peaceful gardens with stunning, almost panoramic westerly views through the Vale of Avalon to the coastline and sea beyond. To the left, St Materiana, a 900 year old Norman Church, can be seen perched high on Glebe Cliff and straight ahead, uninterrupted views of Tintagel Castle Island, the birthplace of the legendary King Arthur and where the ruins of a 13th century castle stands.
All are within an area designated by Europe as a Special Area of Conservation. We are also in an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Tintagel Island and Castle are protected by National Heritage.
