Charming Hazel Cottage is a cosy garden cottage situated in picturesque Upper Settle close to The Green.
The self catering holiday cottage, part of a delightful terrace of cottages, was built around 1850 and is in a conservation area. Hazel Cottage is on the edge of Settle near the Malham Road, and open countryside is well within 5 minutes walk. There are many excellent walks from the door, and the start of the three peaks walk is close by, making the cottage an excellent base for walking.
The ancient market town of Settle has cobbled streets and many country shops and restaurants, and is ideally placed for touring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and visiting the Settle to Carlisle railway which features steam trains. Interesting local attractions are the Post Box art gallery on The Green and this is possibly the smallest art gallery in the world. Close to the market square is Castleberg rock and this has been adopted by the British Mountineering Council who have created climbing routes on it. A very wide range of leisure activities are possible. For example, cycling, caving, golf, crown green bowls, horse riding, pot holing, walking, etc.
Other attractions close by are the Lake District; the Forest of Bowland; Haworth, the home of the famous Bronte sisters; and the village of Rylstone, famous for the WI Calendar Girls.
