Gower was the first place in the UK to be designated as 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. (AONB)
Famed worldwide for its clean and award winning beaches, there are also a whole host of other attractions hemmed within its rugged coastline.
Medieval castles and churches, mysterious megalithic burial tombs and standing stones, sea-facing bone caves of international significance, as well as the magnificent environments of woodland, moorland, farmland and marsh that play host to these fascinating antiquities, all provide the visitor with as much excitement and wonder as the peninsula's more familiar attractions.
The Slope is a one up one down building with its own south-facing garden and off road parking. There are views over unspoilt cliff headland, Mewslade Valley and the Bristol Channel to the North Devon coast and Lundy Island. It is a 750-metre walk down a footpath, over National Trust land to Mewslade Bay. This piece of coastline is arguably the most spectacular on Gower if not South Wales.
The accommodation comprises of:- Downstairs a kitchen and eating area with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. There is a shower, toilet and washbasin located off the kitchen, under the stairs.
Upstairs a light and airy bed- sitting room with two chairs, double bed, chest of drawers and built in wardrobe. There is a television, DVD player and CD player/radio. Heating is by coal stove or electric heater. The stove heats the water but there is also an immersion heater. Outside there is garden furniture and a built in barbecue. We make no secret that the accommodation is small but it is comfortable and competitively priced.
The letting is usually from Saturday to Saturday but we are fairly flexible outside of the main season when weekend or midweek breaks are available. We request that you do not arrive before 2pm. All bedding is provided but you need to bring your own towels (if you are visiting from abroad we can provide them for you at no extra charge).
We ask that you leave the cottage in a clean and tidy condition by 11 am on the day of departure and report any defects or breakages prior to leaving, not so much as to charge you but to make sure that the next visitors are not inconvenienced!
Sorry but we cannot allow dogs, we request no smoking in the property and the cottage is only suitable for two persons.
