The Hen House

Let Holiday Cottage United Kingdom, England, West Midlands, Worcestershire WR15 8TJ

We are Founder Members of the Herefordsire & Marches Horticultural Hub. We always recommend a visit to Stockton Bury Gardens, just a 10 minute drive away. This most perfect and fabulous garden has a small restaurant serving delicious lunches and teas.

Just around the corner is Burford House and its lovely gardens, a garden centre and cafe and a reclamation yard. Nearby are National Trust properties of Berrington Hall and Croft Castle - both with gardens. There are many other lovely gardens nearby - as well as our own chaotic patch.

As well as walks from the door, there are plenty of other places to stretch your legs - Offa's Dyke, the Long Mynd, Mortimer Forest or just to a nearby Pub. Or try Metalsmithing with Paul Shepherd and Claudia Petley; weaving, felt and rag rug making and singing workshops at The Hatch; a wonderful day of hands-on falconry with Trevor Hill or canoeing with Sun Valley Canoes. Or just learning about moths from Dr William Wint himself!

Art, Theatre, Cinema and Events The Spotty Dog Gallery Tenbury Wells, have lunch here too, The Lion Gallery Leominster - have lunch opposite in Savory's (great paninis!). Old Chapel Gallery Pembridge have lunch in one of the local pubs. The Regal Cinema and Theatre in Tenbury Wells. A lengthy list of current events, cinema, theatre and music is regularly produced by Broad Sheep.

Our pretty little Hen House has been welcoming guests for several years now & everyone agrees it is a happy little place to spend your holiday. Guests like the mix of vintage and country furnishings & living in the heart of the garden. Converted from old donkey stables it has a lovely living area & a separate bedroom & bathroom.

As the saying goes … it’s small but perfectly formed!

Linen and towels are provided, as well as locally made soap and other natural toiletries. The kitchens are fully equipped and essentials such as salt, pepper, oil and garlic are provided as is an initial supply of tea, coffee and sugar. Both cottages are centrally heated and have Freeview TV, a DVD player, and wifi for doing your emails and browsing.

We would like you to have a truly relaxing time here at Brook Farm, enjoying the peace and quiet of this part of the country and the privacy of nearly nine acres of gardens, meadows and woods.

There's a barbecue spot in the field at the end of our patch, about 5 minutes walk from the Cottages, sited to get the last of the evening sun. A good place for a glass of wine, or a famous local Ludlow sausage or two.

If you want to explore further afield there are bikes to borrow, walks from the door... there are plenty of places to see, gardens to visit, restaurants and pubs to try ...

Our one bedroom cottage, the Hen House which is available for self-catering breaks of two nights or more. All you need for your first breakfast (and probably your second) is provided in your welcome hamper of our own eggs and lovely local fare.

In summer, we can provide a platter of local meats and cheeses for the night you arrive; in winter you can have some homemade soup and a local burger. You can also ask us to order a box of organic vegetables. Just let us know what you need and we will sort it!
