This delightful holiday cottage in popular Monyash near Bakewell with two bedrooms sleeps four, but two or three may also book it. All rooms are centrally heated from a boiler that you control. The stone built, former coach house will enchant you with its lovely location just above the picturesque village mere (pond), the perfect rural retreat in the memorable village of Monyash close to Bakewell, one of the finest towns in the Peak District. Graded 4-star Self Catering by Visit Britain and accredited for Walkers and Cyclists, it is centrally heated throughout and offers an elegant master bedroom with king-sized bed, a country-style twin bedroom, a cheerful shower room, a generously equipped dining kitchen and a luxurious lounge with card and dice games table. There is off-road parking for two cars, a large lawned garden with a patio, summer furniture and barbecue for alfresco dining. The popular Bull's Head pub is only 150 yards away on the village green, and next door is The Old Smithy café, both of which serve meals seven days a week. There are also seven other country pubs within three miles of the cottage, all with open fires, serving home-cooked food.

The Limestone Way walking trail passes by The Coach House and Tissington and High Peak trails are 1.8 miles  away.  The cottage has facilities to store and wash boots and bikes.  Lathkill Dale starts at the edge of Monyash, Dovedale is just  to the west and all other Derbyshire Dales are nearby.  Cyclists and walkers love the splendour of the Pead District but even the inactive can enjoy the stunning views in Britain's first National Park.

 Quality bedlinen, heating and electricity are included in the price, as are essentials such as teatowels, bathmats and many kitchen items.  A full list of equipment and provisions is available upon request. Allergy sufferes can be asured that the cottage is no-smoking and pet free.  A copy of the Environmental Policy and Access Statement can be requested.  Regrettably the cottage is  not suitable for wheelchairs.  Children of eight and over are welcome and Monyash boasts a superb children's playground.

  • Derbyshire is unique among UK counties for its Wells Dressings, where large clay boards are pressed with pebbles, petals, etc, to form intricate pictures and placed by ancient wells; The season for this is mid-May to early September and Monyash's Wells Dressings occur the week of the second May bank holiday
