Merryfields Barn, Crickhowell

Holiday cottage/Self catering

A modern, 4-star self-catering barn with stunning views, near Crickhowell, in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Located in the peaceful hamlet of Ffawyddog, meaning 'beech grove',  Merryfields Barn has two bedrooms (1 king-size, 1 twin) with oak beams and floors. Completed in 2009, the property has a modern, cosy feel throughout. There's a Japanese square bath and walk-in shower/wet room.

Thick insulation and under-floor heating ensure you’ll never be cold and, in warm weather, two sets of oak French doors open onto patio areas; one has fabulous mountain views over an orchard and the other is completely private, with garden furniture and a barbecue. There's also a paddock with a stream and a dog exercise area.

The village of Llangattock and charming market town of Crickhowell are within walking distance. The Monmouthshire and Brecon canal and River Usk are within 1km, and the area is a haven for birdwatchers, with buzzards and red kites regularly flying overhead. There's a 9-hole golf course down the road, an excellent climbing centre and boating lake at Llangorse, extensive mountain biking and horse riding and numerous fantastic walking routes nearby.
