Ancient barn, now a stand-alone holiday cottage, not one of a group. Owners house 30 metres away, shielded from view by shrubs and trees. Large grassy garden with swing and hammock hung from branches. Ferns, flowers and shrubs, plenty of room to run about and play on the grass. Snowdrop collection and wild daffodils. Moorland from the gate with grazing horses and sheep, walk to the top of Bodmin Moor - or for a longer walk, we can drop you off at Jamaica Inn to walk back home. North Cornwall coast only 4 miles away, beaches and coastal footpath, sand and surf. Two downstairs bedrooms, one with antique double brass bed and granite mullioned window, second bedroom can be single, double or twin.  Bedlinen provided but please bring your own towels. Washbasin in each room. Separate downstairs shower room. Upstairs is spacious open-plan living area with windows on three sides and a wood-burning stove, logs provided free of charge.  Kitchen corner with full size gas cooker, electric convector oven/ grill/ microwave, fridge and freezer. Large antique bookcase full of books and games and toys. Dining table and chairs, two sofas and armchair. TV with video / Freeview and cd, also radio-cassette player. Use of washing machine. Arched windows with lovely views on three sides - one westward to the moor and sunsets, one over the garden and hedges, trees and fields to a distant church and one over the corner of a field with lambs in springtime. Children and babies are welcome at Butterwell, cot, stair-gate, high chair, baby bath provided. Starling roost in Davidstow Woods in winter - watch the whirls and swirls as the birds avoid peregrine falcons  and sparrowhawks and buzzards when they arrive to roost before sunset.
