- Over the hill south to Unapool there is the Maryck Museum of Childhood – an interesting collection and great home-made cakes! Ardvreck Castle is 7 miles south and is dated back to 1490 with fascinating historical connections and a beautiful outlook over Loch Assynt We have a folder in the house of a selection of places of interest for day trips and visits There are some wonderful sandy, clean and beautiful beaches along the north-west and north coast of Sutherland
