Abscott is located on a sleepy Devon lane, (a riot of colourful wild flowers in spring and summer) just outside the charming village of Shirwell in the heart of North Devon.  Abscott was designed as a luxury 3 bedroom holiday cottage sleeping 6 (+ cot).  It combines classic cottage style with contemporary facilities to provide a charming residence for memorable holidays with the family or good friends.  The cottage is a delight for guests in any season. The south-facing patio areas offer sunbathing or dining at twilight during spring, summer and early autumn  (a large BBQ being available between Easter and the end of September). In autumn and winter, gather indoors to relax on comfortable sofas around the cosy wood burning stove.

All three bedrooms are on the ground floor, allowing the spacious open plan living areas upstairs to benefit from views across North Devon fields and hedgerows.

There are very generously-sized double bedrooms.  Each has an en-suite bathroom, plus a separate guest WC on the ground floor. The distinctive master bedroom with king-sized bed and leather sofa has a double height vaulted ceiling, and French windows that open onto a sun-trap terrace. The en-suite bathroom gives you a choice of relaxing in a classic roll top bath or an invigorating double head shower.

Bedroom two also has French windows to its own terrace and an en suite with luxury shower.  The third bedroom has a large en suite bathroom with inset Bette bath and views of the Devon countryside through its floor to ceiling glazed doors that open onto the terrace.

All three bedrooms can be arranged to provide double or twin accommodation as required, the beds being made up for guests in advance.

Step upstairs and you’ll find yourself in a large set of light and airy 3 inter-connecting open plan reception rooms with stripped pine floors, beamed ceilings and floor to ceiling windows that reveal delightful rural vistas. The living area incorporates a luxuriously equipped kitchen/breakfast space, a formal dining area with church pew style seating around a massive pine table and a lounge space with big squashy sofas, woodburner, TV and iPod docking station.
